Removals Glasgow have done many a home and office removal! As such, it’s extremely important to organise your boxes prior to the removal company arriving:

  • When using boxes, make sure nothing is overfilled. If it’s too heavy for you to lift, chances are the removal guys won’t be able to. There’s also a major likelihood of the box collapsing underneath!
  • Keep things in a low centre of gravity. Boxes that have items packed neatly are much easier to lift and decrease your chances of any damage. Having items jumping around inside the box can be unpredictable.
  • Always over-stuff! Be liberal with paper and bubble wrap. The cost of using extra will far outweigh the cost of replacing any damaged items. Also remember to use blank paper where appropriate. Having ink from a newspaper run onto your china or picture frames can be a disaster.
  • Use a labelling system. There are a number of ways to do this effectively. One is to write the name of the room the items belong to on the label. Another is to colour code the labels to a corresponding list. You could also number the boxes and have these on a bit of paper, or preferably a spreadsheet with what each corresponds to. Most of all – keep it simple, then it’s easy to remember and inform the removal guys where they can help you as best they can putting things in the right place.

That’s it. Just a few things to take into account will make your removal go so much smoother, quicker and easier for the removal company!

Good Luck!
